Regarding the Tactics of Activism Against State Oppression in Tribal Areas

Regarding the Tactics of Activism Against

State Oppression in Tribal Areas

Various voices of protest/resistance are active against the oppressive state attack in tribal areas. A significant portion also consists of such intellectuals and democratic rights activists who think about opposing it only within the limited framework of the constitutional sphere. In itself, this is an activism that falls far short of the demands of the situation. Remaining within the framework of extremely meager constitutional and civil liberties makes it difficult even to raise a simple voice of protest against the government. As far as the matter of the Indian state itself crushing the meager democratic rights it has granted, such voices also gain importance in terms of exposing that. In the present time, when a storm of false propaganda attacks is being unleashed against communist revolutionaries and they are being portrayed as bloodthirsty violent groups, such voices hold great importance in exposing the oppressive behavior and intentions of the government. There is a need to encourage and nurture the voices that oppose oppressive state assaults even within such a limited sphere. Contacts should be built in possible ways to encourage such sections, but at the same time, activists with revolutionary consciousness should not remain limited to this. They must also remain vigilant to distinguish from this tactic.
The complete and necessary framework for opposing this governmental oppression extends far beyond the current constitutional boundaries. It is about upholding the fundamental democratic right of man to struggle for a better life. It is about building the social, economic, and political system necessary for prosperous human life. It is about striving for the establishment of such a state system. It is about the fundamental right to engage in the process of embracing and implementing the ideology and politics deemed fit for the purpose. It is about standing firm for the fundamental democratic right to propagate that ideology and politics of communist revolutionaries among the people. It is about upholding this right, even if one agrees or disagrees with this ideology.
When opposing the killing of Adivasis by labeling them as Maoists, one must distinguish from a narrative that only expresses opposition to the false encounters of Adivasis only or where the primary point of protest is the killing of Adivasis by branding them as Maoists. Opposing the false police encounters, arrests, and cases against communist revolutionaries is equally necessary. Communist revolutionaries have the same human and democratic rights. They have an equal right to propagate their politics and ideology among the people and to organize them. All democratic circles should vigorously uphold this right of communist revolutionaries.
