 Martyrdom of Comrade Basava Raju

The Long of a glorious life dedicated to the liberation of the people has come to an end. His historical role will live forever as a heritage of the people. C P I (Moaist) Secretary of central committee comrade Nambala Keshva Roa alias Basva Raju was martyred in the bloody attack of Indian State on May 21. As part of the attack launched by the BJP-RSS oppressive reginum to crush the struggles of people in the tribal area, news of police encounters are comping out of forest areas every day. Mean while on May 21, the security forces of the Indian state released the news that he was killed along with 25 of his comrades in Operation Sankalp. It  is still difficult to say clearly whether this encounter really took place or communist revolutionaries were arrested and killed as usual. Various democratic and political voices of the country raised theie voices against such murder of Comrade Basava Raju. Revolutionary democratic organisations have strongly condemned it and so many organizations have demanded an investigations into it. Ruling class parties like CPI and CPM have had to demand an enquiry of this murder. They have also demanded to stop operation Kagar.

Comrade Basava Raju, was general secretary of the central committee of CPI(Moaist) since 2018. Born in Warangle district, Raju was involved in the revolutionary movement since1970s. He was active in radical student union during his studies of B.Tech. since 1973-74. He was one of the leaders of the organization. He was one of the comrades who first of all went to East Godawary district in 1980 with the purpose of building people`s movement and then played a leading role in building revolution movement in dandakaranya area. He worked in various comunist organisations. He has been the leader of the military wing of People was group and again since the organization was re-organized he was pioneer commander of people liberation gurilla army of this organization. He had been fighting against injustice and cruelties of Indian state through out his life and engaged in building people`s resistance by organizing people. He took his last breath remaining committed to the task of people`s revolution. He spent 45 years of his life in forest areas fighting for people. He presented an honorable example for revolutionary movement by determinately facing difficulties of his life. This is the end of honorable life but history of 50 years of life `s struggle will always travel to future people`s struggle and will continue to be an inspiration for struggling revolutionaries.

In these days , the central government of the country is on a bloody war campaign to wipe out the tribal people's struggles and crush  the communist revolutionaries as their resistance force. The Indian state has celebrated the murder of comrade Baswa Raju. Modi and Amit Shah exchanged congratulations and retaliated announcements of crushing Naxalite movements by march 2026. All this is being done by Indian state at a time when the Maoist party has repeatedly offered talks to the government. But modi government is not ready to listen to such offer, on contrary , it is calling it an offer made by Maoists because they have been surrounded. If this offer is accepted even because they were surrounded then it will easy way out for the government. But government has no concern. It is clear from the attitude of the  Indian government that it wants to instill terror in the minds of the people in tribal areas by shadding more blood and carrying out massacres so that the people abandon the path of resistance against the government  operation  and corporation loot . So that they accept this loot heartlessly and become prey of so called development being done for corporate profits.

Like all oppressive and fascist governments, the modi governments has illusion that it will crush  the people `s resistance and establish a dead peace without peoples resistance, for the corporative businesses. But such thinking will remain an illusion. The legacy of militant revolutionaries like comrade baswa raju will always beat in the hearts of the people and will continue to burn as example of glory of life on the path of people`s liberation. The people`s struggle will remain long living. The people `s resistance is invincible and comrade Raju`s heroic deeds are immortal.
